The role
We currently have an opportunity for a Business Finance Partnerto join the organisation within our Northern Operations and becomea key member of CareFlight’s Finance team.
Reporting to the Group Commercial Manager, your key objectivesfor the role will be to deliver all aspects of management reportingas required for Northern Operations & Flight Operations, aswell as ensuring financial data integrity to improve financialperformance. Responsibilities will include but not be limitedto:
5. Preparation of standardised monthly financial reporting, annual budgets, forecasting, scenario analysis and provide support for consolidated Company board reporting in relation to Northern Operations & Flight Operations and its key contracts
6. Review of monthly financial performance against key contracts and preparation of accurate and timely commentary against budget or forecast for senior management to highlight emerging trends and provide insights on key performance drivers to assist in their decision making
7. Ensure all potential risks and opportunities are highlighted well in advance and quantified
8. Preparation of required monthly journals including accruals for Northern Operations & Flight Operations
9. Timely preparation of any assigned balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring reconciling items are dealt with appropriately
10. Financial support of day-to-day business operations including investigation, analysis, and other ad hoc reporting as required relating to Northern Operations & Flight Operations
11. Perform ad hoc analysis of proposals and business cases and their financial viability and help identify business opportunities and/or cost saving initiatives
12. Overseeing the raising of all customer invoicing for key revenue contracts in Northern Operations and follow up as required
13. Partner with stakeholders to provide value added support and guidance
14. Assistance in external audit process including liaising with auditors and providing clear and accurate support/analysis as required
15. Assistance with inputs relating to Northern Operations & Flight Operations for preparation of weekly/monthly cashflow forecasting.
To be successful in this role you will have thefollowing:
16. At least 5 years post graduate experience in business planning and commercial analysis in mid to large organisations, preferably in operations
17. Undergraduate degree in Finance/Accounting
18. CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent)
19. Demonstrated experience in similar roles with strong commercial acumen, analytical and business partnering skills
20. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
21. Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
22. Advanced excel and system skills
23. Excellent written and oral communication tailored to the audience
24. Ability to prioritise and plan workload and be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
25. Proficient with Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
26. Able to work autonomously
27. Ability to communicate with people at all levels (internal and external) and influence stakeholders
28. Strong customer service mindset with a team player mentality
29. High degree of professional integrity, proactive with “can-do” attitude, demonstrates initiative and willingness to learn.
The following will be highly regarded:
30. Experience using Sage Intacct, Adaptive and Power BI.
31. Experience in organisations where revenue and/or costs is heavily contract based and/or labour is a significant business cost driver and complex with awards/EBAs
32. Some background in Big 4, Mid Tier professional accounting practices as well as commerce.
33. Demonstrated experience in proactively taking steps to improve existing processes, procedures, and systems.
