Senior Engineer (Electrical and Controls) The Utilities Facilities Delivery team is responsible for the project management of all sewage treatment plant capital works projects (including new/update and renewals). The team comprises approximately 23 dedicated professionals with a strong leader, committed to the growth and development of all team members. This opportunity will allow you to leverage your expertise within the electrical space and expand your project management skills by supervising construction activities and assisting in the project management of some projects. You will support the delivery of approved complex water, recycled water and sewage capital projects. Support the Program Manager with delivery of assigned infrastructure projects from concept planning, detailed design and specification through to and including construction and commissioning phase. Provide high level, specialist electrical and controls technical advice to the infrastructure projects including drawing reviews, safety in design, site quality inspections and commissioning. Ensure provisions of all relevant legislation, regulations, agreements, standards, policies, and processes are applied and adhered to in projects. Investigate, analyse and problem solve issues to arrive at fit for purpose solutions. Mentor junior project officers and engineers within the project delivery team. Remuneration The maximum salary advertised comprises an annual base salary of up to $129,262 and an Attraction and Retention Allowance (ARA) of $14,725. The ARA is reviewed annually on the anniversary of the approval. The current approval extends until July 2025 with a submission for renewal underway. Based on our current Certified Agreement, the position's base salary will attract an automatic pay increase of 4% (or up to 6% Brisbane CPI, whichever is greater) in October 2025. The recommended salary will be discussed with the successful applicant and will be based on their level of skills and experience. We're looking for people who have: This position would be suitable for someone who has extensive electrical trade experience working on municipal infrastructure and understands the practical application of these systems and controls. Qualifications in electrical engineering, electrotechnology and/or extensive electrical trade experience working with large municipal infrastructure. Experience working with Siemens PCS7 SCADA and Yokogawa SCADA systems. Minimum 8 years' experience within water treatment, minerals processing, oil and gas, heavy manufacturing or similar industry. Minimum 10 years' experience installing and commissioning instrumentation and PROFIBUS installation. A natural affinity towards teamwork and collaboration with key stakeholders. Demonstrated flexibility in achieving outcomes when met with challenges. An interest in making a positive impact for the betterment of your city.
