About the role + Key ResponsibilitiesLaw Squared is one of a few firms working in the energy transition and journey to net-zero. We are fortunate to work with a number of energy market participants across their general commercial needs and in delivering energy + infrastructure projects. These projects include electricity, wind, solar, battery and the transmission of this energy (including landholder engagement projects). This role will have three parts to it and the key responsibilities include but are not limited to:1. Property Law: acting for clients in the property space across a range of their commercial needs including (but not limited to):• leases, licences and land access agreements;• property advice and transactions (excluding residential conveyancing); and• deeds of settlement and release, contracts of sale, variation deeds, option documents, easements and other contracts.2. Energy + Infrastructure Projects: assisting and working on energy transition projects such as:• renewable energy zone projects;• private energy infrastructure projects; and• transmission projects in electricity, wind, solar and battery and working with different stakeholders on landholder engagement projects. 3. Compulsory Acquisition: acting for statutory authorities, government bodies and private clients across a range of their needs including (but not limited to):• advising and representing on compulsory acquisition of interests in land arising under relevant legislation; • advising on high profile infrastructure projects;• prepare, manage, and instruct independent experts and counsel (where applicable); and• conducting litigation in disputed claims for compensation. About youWe are looking for a Property + Projects lawyer ready to join an innovative and compelling alternative to the traditional law firm. The ideal candidate will:• Have excellent communication skills and attention to detail, wants to work collaboratively with a team, clients and other stakeholders and have qualities and behaviours that demonstrate a commitment to integrity;• A strong interest in property law and the Energy + Infrastructure Space and Australia's goal to be at net zero by 2050;• Be agile and prepared to learn and upskill as needed; • Have 3-6 years PQE, this experience is flexible for the right person as training will be provided;• Have an understanding of the compulsory acquisition process and other planning and property-related issues. Litigation experience in this area will be highly regarded. Training will be provided to upskill in land acquisition matters and litigation (if required); • Manage own files with support and ask for assistance from your team when needed; and• Have the ability to engage effectively with clients and other stakeholders.Lawyers at Law Squared act in an autonomous yet collaborative way.
