The Role
As the Head Chef of our Pastry Division, you will take ownership of crafting and overseeing their entire pastry offering. You will manage the day-to-day operations of their pastry kitchen, ensuring the creation of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods that reflect traditional and contemporary Italian and Western flavors. This is an exciting opportunity to innovate, inspire, and elevate our pastry section to new heights.
Responsibilities Include:
* Leading and managing the pastry team, from recruitment to training and development.
* Designing and executing a seasonal menu that highlights traditional Italian pastries and contemporary creations.
* Ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation across all pastry products.
* Collaborating with the executive chef and management team to curate special events and catering menus.
* Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and safety in the pastry kitchen.
* Managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs.
* Staying updated on industry trends, pastry techniques, and customer preferences to continuously innovate.
Skills and Experience
To thrive in this role, you will need:
* Extensive experience as a pastry chef, with at least 3+ years in a senior or leadership position.
* Expert knowledge of Italian pastries, desserts, and baking techniques.
* A strong creative vision, with the ability to design menus that reflect both tradition and innovation.
* Exceptional leadership skills to inspire and manage a dynamic team.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
