The Role Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Firmware Team Leader will be responsible for leading a team of firmware engineers to complete the design of complex firmware in embedded environments on complex military systems. The key responsibilities for this role include: Lead a firmware engineering team to complete the design of complex firmware in embedded environments on complex military systems. Apply agreed standards, guidelines, patterns, and tools. Assist as part of a team in the design of components of larger systems. Create multiple design views to address the different stakeholders' concerns and to handle functional and non-functional requirements. Assist in the evaluation of options and trade-offs. Design, develop, and integrate high-speed, RTL (SystemVerilog) designs into parallel FPGA processing environments. Verify RTL designs using Testbench and framework validation methodologies. Contribute to the development of organisational firmware design and architecture policies and standards. Review others' designs to ensure optimal design implementation and adherence to requirements and best practices. Mentor junior Firmware Engineers to develop talent and expertise within the organisation. To be successful you will possess: Tertiary qualifications in Electronics Engineering (or a related discipline). Individuals nearing the completion of their studies will also be considered. A logical approach to problem-solving. An inquiring mind and a commitment to continued learning. Proficiency in a Hardware Description Language, preferably SystemVerilog. An understanding of synchronous logic design methodologies and practices. An understanding of Intel and/or Xilinx FPGAs. Understanding of embedded logic engineering techniques and technology as well as interfacing with processors & software. Familiarity with source code control systems and their usage. Willingness and ability to understand and adopt new technology. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
