About the opportunity: Waverley BMW has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Car Buyer / Valuer. The Buyer / Valuer is responsible for being the primary source for used car vehicle stock for Waverley BMW. The Buyer is expected to work in conjunction with the sales management team to maximise the mix of stock and purchases for a high turnover and profitable stock mix. Stock is expected to be purchased through a varied network of sources. We operate a 5-day week Monday to Saturday, with an RDO in lieu of Saturday. Key responsibilities include: • Supporting internal customers • Being accessible and providing prompt and considered responses • Responding to customer calls/emails and reporting any concerns to management in a timely manner • Ensure customers are following agreed processes • Ensures ethical and lawful behaviours are adhered to at all times • Efficiency and Process adherence • Effective use of the Dealer Appraisal electronic valuation system • Reporting any process issues with Sales Consultants to Management • Wholesale – using agreed disposal methods. • Buying vehicles – ensuring good administration and communication with Accounts • Compliance with all relevant laws, including RWC process • Ensures compliance with the Motor Traders Act Our Ideal Candidate: • Excellent interpersonal skills including strong verbal, written and listening communication skills • Strong business acumen including strategic and operational planning • Strong financial acumen including experience with budgets and expense tracking • Process driven and proactive with strong initiative • Ability to meet deadlines and achieve set sales targets and profit margins • High levels of self-motivation, drive and resilience • Excellent problem-solving skills • Strong negotiation skills • Ability to build rapport and establish trust with internal and external customers • Proficient with DMS (Dealership Management System) and Microsoft Office suite • Strong management and leadership experience including the ability to keep the team focused and motivated in a challenging work environment. • Current Driver’s License.
