Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital, and the Anatomical Pathology Department within the RHH is the tertiary referral centre for Anatomical Pathology in Tasmania. As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions.
The Role:
In a multidisciplinary and dynamic environment, provide a wide range of high level administrative and clerical services to staff, management, and clients of the Anatomical Pathology Department, to support enhanced service delivery, continuous improvement, and optimal patient outcomes.
You will need:
* Provide high-level administrative support to the Anatomical Pathology Office, including accurate data entry and checking of specialised reports and external correspondence into the laboratory information system, and provision of a professional reception service ensuring attention to detail and maintenance of confidentiality.
* Provide routine daily clerical and executive support to the Head of Department, Pathologists and Scientists in Charge within the Anatomical Pathology laboratory by performing:
o Dissemination of worklists and production of outstanding report lists.
o Transcription and preparation of high level and confidential medical reports.
o Preparation of correspondence letters, statistics and documents for research, meetings and presentations as required, including creation and management of Excel spreadsheets.
o Attendance at confidential and non-confidential Departmental meetings. Take, produce, and distribute accurate minutes.
* Communicate regularly and effectively with a range of external agencies, such as general practice clinics and interstate laboratories.
Details of appointment: General Stream, Band 3
Permanent part time, day worker position, working up to 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Salary: $73,811 to $79,779 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
