– Consultant, IndirectTax
We are currently seeking a Consultant to join our growing teamas part of the Indirect Tax team. The Indirect Tax practice hasestablished itself as a major player within Queensland’smarketplace, advising leading public and private sectororganisations across a diverse industry base.
This is a unique opportunity that will allow you to grow yourskills in various areas of indirect tax like goods and services tax(GST), fuel tax credits, stamp duty, land tax and payroll tax.Joining our team means being part of a positive and supportiveculture where teamwork is key, and we truly value building strongworking relationships based on mutual respect.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Develop your technical expertise across a variety of indirect tax matters
* Provide advice on cutting edge indirect tax issues to a prestigious client base, including local, multi-national and ASX listed clients
* Utilise your legal skills to advise on complex structures, deals, and commercial activities
* Develop your client management skills through attending meetings and dealing directly with client queries
* Receive excellent training, mentoring and support from an experienced managerial team
* Grow professionally, including expansion of legal skills (research, consulting and problem solving) through analysis and application of legislation and case law
* Undertake relevant postgraduate study in accounting and/or law (including practical legal training)
* Work collaboratively with a talented and diverse group of professionals who share a passion for delivering exceptional results for our clients
* Develop meaningful professional connections and expand your network through this role, creating valuable opportunities for your career growth and advancement
What you’ll need to succeed:
* Recent graduate with a degree in Law or a dual degree with Law and Business/Commerce
* 1-2 years’ experience in tax or business services within professional services, a law firm, or the government (Australian Taxation Office or a state revenue office)
* Possess excellent written communication skills
* You will be passionate about improving your technical expertise and applying it commercially
* Efficient time management skills and be able to work as part of a team
* The ability to identify knowledge gaps and work with senior staff to develop strategies to plug these gaps
* A genuine passion for delivering exceptional client service and utilising your unique skills
