State Street Alpha Data is our next generation enterprise data solution, comprising technology and operational servicing components that deliver a consistent view of information across the investment value chain with easy access to aggregated data, analytics, and real-time insights.
The Alpha Data Platform centralizes data, ensuring an enterprise-wide single source of truth. Our cloud-based native data warehouse is built on an extensible and scalable data model that captures the breadth and depth of data generated across an organization and from other sources, including internal and external custodians, service providers, and data marketplaces.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and manage the Alpha Data product roadmap and experience for the Asia Pacific region.
* Effectively prioritize the build and delivery of Alpha Data capability, incorporating global product development with specific data requirements of Clients in the region.
* Consult with Clients to understand their data strategy, business objectives, operating model needs, and challenges.
* Provide subject matter expertise and industry experience to lead Alpha Data solution discussions.
* Identify opportunities for the activation of new Alpha Data products and services.
* Define business requirements and solution designs, and manage product development through the end-to-end lifecycle.
* Drive detailed design workshops with both internal and external stakeholders.
* Present and demonstrate capabilities of the Alpha Data Platform and supporting Data Services, articulating the core value proposition to new and existing Clients.
* Partner with the Sales & Client Solutions team to support business development activities and product growth.
* Be responsible for the end-to-end implementation of Alpha Data solutions for all clients in the region.
* Lead the training and development of Alpha Data competencies within relevant State Street teams.
* Support operational role definition, recruitment processes, and onboarding for core Alpha Data team members.
* Track longer-term industry trends and competitor activity to inform product optimization activities.
* Participate in industry events, conferences, and advisory boards to help build the Alpha brand.
Professional Qualities:
* Solid working experience in the investment management or financial services industry is a must.
* Proven experience in senior leadership roles within Investment Data Management, Data/Information Architecture, or Data Product Ownership.
* Demonstrated experience in the design, delivery, and implementation of data solutions within the investment management industry.
* Strong foundation of data management concepts and associated operational services, for example, Data Governance, Data Quality Management, Master Data Management, Metadata Management.
* Ability to interact with external and internal stakeholders – specifically CIO, CRO, CTO roles and their direct reports.
* Ability to translate business requirements into detailed technical requirements and vice versa.
* Experience with front-to-back investment servicing and operations functions is preferred.
* Knowledge of front and middle office technology is an advantage.
* Charles River, Blackrock Aladdin, Thinkfolio, Sim Corp Dimension, Markit EDM, Eagle Pace, etc.
* Knowledge of data vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, IDC, RIMES) and their strengths and weaknesses.
* Bring a high level of energy and enthusiasm, ability to generate excitement about Alpha with our prospects.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, organized and thorough with granular attention to detail.
* Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
* Excellent ability to work in a team environment, secure team and stakeholder buy-in, and motivate the team to accomplish goals and objectives.
* Ability to travel across the region as required.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or Accounting.
