What you'll do: You will be laying the groundwork for a future where data-driven insights and digital solutions empower our decision-making and optimise our operations. You will provide technical expertise and mentorship to build the engineering capabilities of the future. We are looking for someone passionate about leveraging data to gain insights and drive business impact. You will work cross-functionally to connect databases and integrate results across disciplines.
Key responsibilities include:
Apply reservoir engineering and production engineering knowledge to identify opportunities for digital optimisation Proficient in using existing industry software to analyse data, build models, and generate insights Collaborate with the Digital Ops team to develop and implement digital solutions that align with business objectives Conduct thorough technical evaluations of proposed digital initiatives, considering feasibility, impact, and ROI Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and knowledge sharing Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in digital operations Contribute to the development of technical documentation, procedures, and guidelines related to digital initiatives Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as a technical subject matter expert What you'll bring: Holding a Petroleum, Chemical or related Engineering qualification, as well as RPEQ and/or CPEng, the ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a strong focus on data-driven decision making. You will have clear communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, as well as:
Strong technical skills in reservoir engineering and production engineering Proficient in using industry-standard software for reservoir modelling, production optimisation, and data analysis Relevant experience in Production Systems models Experience in implementing digital solutions or participating in digital transformation initiatives (desirable) Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and actionable insights for diverse audiences RPEQ and/or CPEng required Ideally, you will be degree qualified or demonstrate significant training and experience within directly relevant role(s), within large corporate environments.
