This role may vary slightly depending on the area in which the Assistant in Nursing works.The Team:The casual pool fills the vacancies of the hospital.
The assistant in nursing role is essential to the wards running smoothly.
Working in a coordinated role with the Registered Nurses on the ward to ensure patients are safe and supported during their stay.The Role:Deliver nursing care as delegated by the RN, under the supervision of an RN or EN, according to the nursing care plan and within the scope of the Assistant in Nursing – Workplace Guidelines.Work with the RN and/or EN in establishing priorities for patient/client care delivery.Maintain healthcare knowledge and skills in accordance with the Assistant in Nursing – Workplace Guidelines and competencies required under a Certificate III qualification, through participation in relevant staff education activities.You will need:Demonstrated knowledge and skills in patient/client care, with an ability to assist patients/clients to meet their personal care needs and perform activities of daily living as required.Ability to work as an effective team member in an acute care team environment.Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills, including written, verbal and numeracy skills.Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to adhere to safe manual handling and infection control procedures.Demonstrated ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.Note: Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.Details of appointment:Fixed term, casual, shift worker (fully rotational) position working as and when required, commencing from 21 April 2025 until 31 May 2026.
