About the roleChandler Macleod is supporting our State Government client seeking an Asset Officer, whereby you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective maintenance and compliance of public housing assets across NSW. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a division dedicated to providing safe and secure housing solutions for over 262,000 tenants statewide.As an Asset Officer, you will be responsible for conducting field inspections, scoping and monitoring the delivery of maintenance work, and verifying contractor compliance with established standards and contract requirements. You will develop and manage a planned maintenance program, ensuring that all activities adhere to the Australian Building Codes, Housing Portfolio standards, and other relevant policies.DutiesDeliver timely, accurate and effective scoping of works by adhering to the scoping program.Develop, implement and manage a planned maintenance program using Property Assessment Survey (PAS) data and local knowledge for allocated properties.Ensure appropriate delivery of works and develop action plans to address work issues when necessary.Ensure compliance with Australian Building Codes, Housing Portfolio standards, policies and contract requirements when assigning work to contractors.Conduct timely, accurate inspections according to the program and standards, maintaining records of inspections and required actions.Build and maintain positive relationships with contractors to facilitate effective inspection and maintenance programs.Skills and ExperienceUnderstanding of the Australian Building Codes, Australian Standards, Government or commercial probity and contracting standards.Relevant qualification and/or sound construction building maintenance and/or building construction experience/exposure, together with field inspection experience and measurement of performance against standards.Current driver's license.Desirable – experience in compliance inspections of building essential services.ImportantApplications close 3pm on Friday the 8th of November.This is a casual role offering 35 hours per week, and anticipated to last until 31/01/2025.ASAP start.How to applyIf you have a background in building maintenance, project management, or field inspection, or relevant experience with a strong understanding of the Australian Building Codes, we would love to hear from you!
