Add expected salary to your profile for insightsAs the Senior Garment Technician you will be responsible for overseeing the technical development and production of garments from initial design concept through to final production. This role requires a strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and fitting, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You will have extensive experience in the fashion industry, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality products.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop technical packs including size specifications, fit comments, grading rules and tolerances for all styles briefed - including colour upsEnsure all the fit samples, bulk shipment samples and pre production samples to arrive on time and adhere to VRG GRL quality standardAttend and run fit sessions alongside the Senior Designer, provide technical knowledge, check finishes and measure samplesWork closely with Garment techs and Designers to ensure all tech packs are sent out on deadlines set.Negotiating costsEnsure all bulk fabrics are approvedWork closely with the Production Coordinator and Buyer and Product Coordinator on timelines and Ex factory datesResponsible for all fits and bulk shipment comments to be sent out on time and to the VRG GRL standardCommunicate clear and detailed instructions to offshore manufacturers throughout the sampling and bulk processMaintain fit, construction, and workmanship standards to ensure consistency across all factoriesEnsure various garment labelling, tags and trims are correctCome up with solutions to any issues that may arise within production and communicate all issues and potential resolutions clearly to the Production Coordinator and teamFollow up on all samples, ensuring all deadlines are met.Responsible for shipment samples to arrive prior to agreed inspection date and shipper comments are sent before bulk inspection, any issues must be communicated with high urgencyAdministration support; updating all platforms and documents where neededHelping to source new factories that meet the VRG GRL standard alongside the Product DeveloperABOUT YOU:Studied Fashion Design, Textile Development, or a related field.3+ years of experience factory coordination, and tech pack developmentStrong knowledge of textile properties, garment construction, and production processes.Proficiency in Adobe IllustratorExcellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong supplier relationships.Detail-oriented with a knack for problem-solving and optimising processes.Experience managing global supplier relationships and working within sustainability-focused supply chains is a plus.Mandarin or Cantonese as a second language is a plusABOUT USA growing global fashion retailer started in Brisbane, Australia.A female founded business, with over 70% female leadership.We have donated a percentage of our profits to charity annually, since inception.A 4-day work week in our Newstead Head Office.Ethical manufacturing and considered fabric choices are at the heart of our production.A passionate and experienced team with a focus on innovation, creativity and quality.We value individual development and success, and provide our team with opportunities to grow with us.How do your skills match this job?Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?How many years' experience do you have as a Garment Technician?What's your expected annual base salary?How much notice are you required to give your current employer?
