As we continue to secure projects across NSW, especially in the Sydney and hunter areas, Alfabs enters a growth phase where we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team. Reporting to the project delivery manager, the Project Manager will oversee and manage a portfolio of key projects from final tender handover through to project completion and demobilisation. The successful candidate will lead a project team, champion a safety-first culture, and ensure that all project objectives, including safety, quality, and budget targets, are met. This is a crucial role in ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with the client's expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Management: Manage multiple projects, ensuring all aspects from tender handover to final delivery are executed successfully.
* Team Leadership: Lead, support, and manage project staff, including supervisors and labour. Forecast and allocate resources effectively to meet project demands.
* Safety & Compliance: Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring all team members adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
* Client Communication: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and managing scope changes, costs, and schedules.
* Reporting & Budget Management: Track and report on project progress, including budget, schedule, and any variations. Implement corrective actions when needed.
* Quality Control & Documentation: Ensure the quality management plan is followed and that all project documentation is accurate and submitted on time.
* Problem-Solving: Effectively address and resolve any issues related to scope changes, cost overruns, and safety concerns.
* Resource Allocation: Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to allocate manpower, materials, and equipment, ensuring efficient project execution.
* Performance Management: Evaluate and manage team member performance, ensuring a high level of engagement and performance across all team members.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in project management, preferably in construction or manufacturing.
* Experience working with structural steel, detailing, procurement, fabrication, delivery plans and erection.
* Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to guide, mentor, and inspire a diverse team.
* Strong skills using Microsoft programs such as excel, Microsoft Project and P6 is highly desirable.
* Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources efficiently.
* In-depth knowledge of safety standards and quality management systems.
* Excellent communication skills, both with internal teams and external clients.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
* A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements
Desirable Skills and Experience:
* Exposure to the rail industry
* Experience working with TfNSW
* Relevant and current site inductions
* Project Engineering and Management degree
* Relevant certificates and in project and construction management.
