The successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing digital transformation, ensuring the technology function aligns with strategic goals and delivers value across the organisation.Role OverviewReporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Technology Strategy, Engagement and Architecture Manager will lead the development and execution of the organisation's technology and digital strategies. The role is crucial in ensuring that technology solutions align with business objectives, optimise investment in technology and support the organisation's renewable energy goals.You will manage and govern the technology roadmap, providing technical leadership for solution architecture development while ensuring compliance with architectural principles, policies and standards. This role will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver innovative, fit-for-purpose solutions across projects, programs and business-as-usual operations.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnology Strategy Development: Develop and maintain a comprehensive technology strategy that supports the organisation's renewable energy objectives and business strategy;Align technology strategy and business unit roadmaps with corporate and divisional plans, ensuring investment in the right initiatives;Evaluate new and emerging technology trends, assessing risks and costs to ensure technology solutions are innovative and effective;Ensure architectural and functional standards are maintained across all technology solutions.Architecture Leadership:Provide technical leadership in the design, implementation and integration of system, software and hardware solutions;Lead regular Architecture Review forums to ensure compliance with approved designs and organisational standards;Develop and maintain architectural principles, standards, procedures and guidelines.Stakeholder Engagement and Leadership:Manage and develop the Technology Strategy, Engagement and Architecture team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement;Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including the Executive Leadership Team and business managers, positioning the technology function as a trusted advisor;Establish and implement an agile and responsive engagement model for system user groups and business stakeholders;Work closely with ICT Business Partners to develop insights and deliver both operational and strategic solutions.Technology Governance and Planning:Manage the demand process, ensuring the successful prioritisation and delivery of technology initiatives;Support the organisation's annual planning and budgeting cycle, ensuring ICT initiatives and BAU budget items are accurately accounted for;Provide strategic advice to the Chief Information Officer on technology solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business needs.About YouThe ideal candidate will have:Extensive Experience: Demonstrated experience in technology strategy development, enterprise and solution architecture and managing complex technology implementations;Leadership Skills: Strong people management skills with experience leading teams and influencing senior stakeholders in large, complex organisations;Technical Expertise: Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile) and software development processes (SDLC, Agile, DevOps);Strategic Thinking: Ability to align technology strategies with organisational objectives, driving innovation and business transformation;Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and influencing skills, with a track record of building trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation;Industry Knowledge: Experience in the renewable energy or utilities sector is highly regarded but not essential.
