Senior Through Life Support Solutions EngineerRheinmetall Defence Australia Pty Ltd in BrisbaneThe Senior Through Life Support Solutions Engineer will manage a team of three engineers reporting to the Logistics Vehicles Chief Engineer and the Through Life Support Project Manager. The Senior TLS Solutions Engineer will be well supported by a team of experienced engineers.About the RoleThe Senior Through Life Support (TLS) Solutions Engineer is part of a team of TLS engineers including systems engineering, safety engineering and design engineering that support the Land 121 Through Life Logistics Program. The team will undertake RODUM investigation work, survey, quotation and input to Safety Investigation work relating to Logistics Vehicle and Modules.The Senior TLS Solutions Engineer will coordinate the day to day running of the team supporting the development and design of prototype and production level systems, subsystems and components for military vehicles over the product life cycle. Daily operations will include management of metrics to report progress to the TLS Program Director.The general and generic duties of the TLS Engineer include:Supporting the Systems Engineering Manager in developing, implementing and maintaining the Contractor Engineering Management Plan;Conducting engineering investigations, including input to Safety investigations;Coordinating the engineering investigation conducted by other members of the TLS team;Analysing Engineering Change Requests (ECR) through the RDA Engineering Change Proposal process and participating in the RDA Engineering Review Board;Conceiving and selecting concepts in response to Customer Requirements using a range of tools and methods including weighted Trade Off Studies, DFMEA, Design for Safety, etc.;Evolving selected concepts into documented prototype designs using integrated CAD/PDM (CATIA V5 and Siemens TEAMCENTER);Reviewing ECRs prepared by other members of the TLS team prior to presentation at the CCB;Coordinating developmental activities for Engineering Changes, including monitoring the input from the Design Engineering Team and other required specialist areas of expertise;Coordinating the required development of, or amendment to, Technical Instructions and status tracking documents;Supporting manufacture and verification of prototypes and incorporating test results into production designs as appropriate;Developing, releasing and maintaining production documentation;Participating in formal and informal Engineering/Safety Reviews with internal and external stakeholders;Providing problem-solving and continuous improvement support to Production and Through Life Support teams;Interfacing with In-Service Support Manager, Configuration Controller and Spare Parts Manager on matters relating to product changes;Developing and maintaining metrics to enable tracking of the progress of TLS Engineering activities;Liaising with customers, suppliers and RDA Engineering.What Qualifications You Should HaveRheinmetall seeks applicants who exemplify our Company’s values of Safety, Partnering, Openness, Respect and Trust (SPORT).
