THIS ROLE
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in extracting valuable insights from complex industrial datasets, enabling informed decision-making for our resources sector clients.
You will work directly with some of Australia's largest mining and energy companies, transforming their operational data into strategic assets. RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Relationship Building
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and business objectives Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences Build trust through consistent delivery of high-quality insights Participate in client meetings and workshops to gather requirements and present results Data Collection and Cleaning
Gather data from various industrial sources including SCADA systems, PI historians, and operational databases Clean and preprocess data to prepare it for analysis, ensuring data quality and integrity Develop and maintain data pipelines for ongoing analytics Document data sources, transformations, and methodologies Data Analysis and Visualisation
Utilise Power BI to create interactive dashboards, reports, and visualisations Identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights from complex industrial datasets Translate raw information into meaningful intelligence that drives operational improvements Design intuitive visualisations that make complex data accessible to decision-makers Implement data models that support both routine reporting and ad-hoc analysis Work autonomously, managing your tasks and priorities efficiently Take ownership of data-related projects from requirements gathering to delivery Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement Stay current with industry trends and emerging data technologies REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years' experience in data analysis, preferably in resources, industrial, or engineering contexts Power BI : Advanced proficiency in creating data models, reports, and visualisations Data Analysis : Strong analytical skills to interpret complex statistical data and industrial metrics SQL : Proficiency in writing queries and manipulating large datasets Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences Independence : Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in ambiguous situations Attention to Detail : Exceptional thoroughness in data collection, cleaning, and analysis Problem-Solving : Creative approach to overcoming data challenges in complex environments QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field Certification in Power BI, data analysis, or similar technologies is highly valued Experience in the resources sector is advantageous but not essential WHAT WE OFFER
