We are looking for a casual Tour Guide to join the team at our world renowned Holiday Park at Cape Hillsborough - home of the Wallabies and Kangaroos on the beach at sunrise experience!
An experience you could play a pivotal role in facilitating, as one of our Tour Guides.
Cape Hillsborough is perfectly located just 40 minutes north of Mackay and 90 minutes south of Airlie Beach.
This role will appeal to locals as staff accommodation is not provided.
What you'll do:
You will support the Activities Guide to facilitate tours for our guests and visitors in groups, wanting to take part in the iconic kangaroos and wallabies on the beach at sunrise experience.
Your role will be to engage our guests and visitors and share information on the local area and wildlife.
You will also be required to perform other duties associated with the set up, pack down and reporting.
As Tour Guide your role is to entertain, inform and engage visitors and guests.
This is a casual role working across a rotating roster, with approximately 3 days currently available.
Shift start times range from 4am – 6am (early in summer and later in winter based on sunrise timing).
We allow 3 hours for the experience, to cover:
Set up.
A short talk at or just before sunrise.
(there are a few items which must be included in the talk to meet compliance requirements.)
Pack up once the kangaroos/wallabies exit the beach, includes cleaning the equipment and prep for the next morning.
Report to be submitted daily.
What you'll bring:
Experience as a Tour Guide or in a similar customer facing role, with confidence in interacting with others.
Availability and flexibility to work weekends, weekdays and public holidays and start between approximately 4am (in Summer) and 6am (in Winter).
Second language fluency is advantageous, but not essential.
Excellent customer service, verbal and communication skills.
Experience entertaining and leading medium to large groups is advantageous, but not essential.
Presenting/public speaking/interpreting/guiding experience is preferred but not essential.
