AGL are responsible for the water services that are used across the Loy Yang complex including those common to the AGL Loy Yang A Power Station & Mine, the Loy Yang B Power Station and other generators within the Latrobe Valley.The Infrastructure Technical Officer is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the assets to provide customers with a reliable water resource and waste (water and ash) disposal service to meet commercial and environmental objectives.The role requires a combination of time spent in the field to perform operational tasks and oversee maintenance activities, as well as time in the office performing business and administrative functions.What you'll be doing:Operate and maintain the water system and supply to the Loy Yang complex by operating pumps, pipes and ancillary systemsOperate and maintain storm water runoff treatment systems including turbidity and pH correction systems Maximise the value of the SCADA system and OSI PI interface to increase productivity by obtaining all relevant data and ensuring stakeholders are trained effectively in OSI PI useManage compliance with the multiple water supply and disposal contracts with external stakeholders through having a detailed knowledge of contracts, attending meetings and ensuring their requirements are metAssist in the regular surveillance and ensure stability of large dams is compliant with scheduled operational inspectionsOperate the Ash Pond in accordance with procedures to ensure the safe disposal of ash and excess saline waterAssist with data collection for monthly environmental reportsAssist in the effective project management, budgeting and expenditure control over numerous monthly budgetsImprove operational programs to provide optimal balance between OPEX and asset availability, asset life, risk and performanceAbout You:You will have extensive experience in water infrastructure and dam operations within a heavy industrial environment such as power generation, mining or water authorities.
Your ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders and provide subject matter expertise will set you up for success.What you'll bring to the table:Mechanical or Civil Trade or Technical qualifications and significant technical knowledge related to civil infrastructure, water disposal, pump systems and water storage.
