Summary:We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cleaner to join our team. The position contributes to the achievement of a physically and environmentally safe workplace/residence through effectively and efficiently maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of all property, fittings, surfaces, equipment and materials to acceptable standards. Responsibilities:
Undertake cleaning in accordance with TAIHS Policy and Procedures, and at the advice of Line Manager
Perform all cleaning tasks within an allocated area as instructed for any shift including:
Clean and maintain internal and external public areas including toilets, recreational areas, entry ways, foyers, bathroom / toilet blocks, verandas /balconies, stairs et
Attend and clean casual spills
Ensure appropriate signage is in place when ‘wet cleaning’ is in progress
Adhere to cleaning procedures for specialised areas including the Primary Health clinic areas and outreach clinical area(as applicable to work location)
Maintain tidy and clean linen storage
Put out new linen bags and take full linen bags to linen collection areas/ trolleys (as applicable to work location)
Follow colour code procedures for reusable / single use cleaning equipment
Replenish consumables including but not limited to hand towels, toilet paper, liquid soap
Ensure all cleaning equipment is in good working order
Maintain adequate stock supply at all times (as appropriate to work location)
Store and secure cleaning equipment, chemicals, machinery and stock in the work location
Receipt, checking and unpacking of non-sterile stores delivery (as applicable to work location)
Perform all waste management duties associated with infectious cleaning procedure.
Other cleaning duties as directed by the Senior Cleaning Supervisor
Report on equipment and material usage and requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
1-2 years’ experience working as a commercial cleaner in general and/or clinical environments
Certification in Chemical Handling and Storage and Manual Handling
Ability to perform a physically demanding position
Demonstrated experience and ability to perform general cleaning duties including operation of motorised cleaning machinery and use of cleaning equipment
Sound work ethic and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and directions, and work with a minimum of supervision.
Good time management and the ability to prioritise
Demonstrated experience and understanding of waste management/disposal protocols
Capable in and an awareness of the importance of infection control protocols and hand hygiene in a clinical environment
