Superintendent Representative
Job SummaryThis role demands a comprehensive understanding of contract administration, particularly within the context of government building contracts. The successful candidate will provide expert operational contract supervisory services on major and complex projects, ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
Qualification/educationRelevant tertiary qualifications in construction management, engineering, or a related field are essential. Further certifications in contract administration are highly desirable.
Construction experience is manditory.
ExperienceExtensive experience in administering government building contracts (single, multi-storey, and modular houses) is crucial. A proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and navigating contractual disputes is required. Experience with government procedures and systems is highly advantageous.
SkillsThe ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to effectively manage multiple priorities within a demanding environment. Proven ability to mentor and guide junior staff is essential. Expertise in issuing variation orders, assessing contractual claims, and ensuring Building Act compliance is critical.
Key Responsibilities:Provide contract supervisory services for major projects
Manage government building contracts, including residential and multi-storey developments
Assess contractual claims, issue variation orders, and ensure regulatory compliance
Oversee contractor performance and resolve disputes as required
Provide expert guidance to stakeholders and mentor junior staff
Ensure projects adhere to relevant procedures, standards, and legislative requirements
It is expected that the successful candidate will possess strong oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. They will display initiative, attention to detail, and have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised whilst contributing to the wider team's objectives of ensuring service delivery exceeds expectations.
