Salary: Level EO2: $131,241 - $141,163 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2021)
This is a fixed term, full-time position commencing January 2025 up until December 2028
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and committed educator to work within the Statewide Services division. Statewide Services provides the services and supports required by schools to enable student achievement.
The Curriculum Priorities branch provides advice to schools and the system and leads the development of strategies, tools, professional learning, and resources that strengthen the capability of public schools and the profession. We are looking for a team member who has a comprehensive understanding of contemporary approaches to delivering the curriculum and other teaching and learning priorities.
The Role
The successful applicant will assist with the planning, implementation and evaluation of specialist teaching and learning support aligned to the Department’s strategic directions. They will support schools and education regions through the development and implementation of whole-school approaches, including teaching and learning, particularly in relation to consent and respectful relationships education. Experience with the Western Australian Curriculum; Health and Physical Education, will be beneficial.
As a key component of the role, the Education Officer will consult and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to build quality, system wide supports that improve student engagement and achievement. In addition, they will be required to contribute to the provision of subject matter expertise to assist in the development and delivery of professional learning resources.

Eligibility
To work with us, you must:
* be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
* consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
* hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia
* obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check

* Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with change and generate innovative solutions related to teaching and learning issues.
* Demonstrated highly developed written communication and presentation skills, including experience in the preparation of reports, briefings and other documentation to support and inform senior officers.
