About the Team:
Our Operations team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains. With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets.
The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community.
About the Opportunity:
This role is a rare and exciting opportunity to be a part of a newly developed function within the Interstate Asset Maintenance Services business unit. The role of Rail Construction Work Group Leader is a great opportunity to play a key role in establishing a newly developed construction team and contribute to initiatives which drive improvements in the successful delivery of maintenance execution activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and supervise a multi-skilled delivery work group to deliver to the appropriate standards and ensure the operational integrity and efficiency of a designated location or section within a defined Rail Corridor.
* Conduct QA/QC and quality safety interactions, to ensure all work is executed safely, to the highest quality, and in line with business COP requirements.
* Cooking and developing contractor partners and providing felt leadership through frequent and proactive field engagement.
* Build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders to align on operational plans and strategies.
* Monitor and measure team performance to ensure that training, safety, production, and cost KPIs are adhered to, and feedback is provided.
Requirements:
* Demonstrated industry experience managing operational teams and equipment in a high production environment.
* Experience and qualifications in rail track inspection, examination, and certification, including sound knowledge of Australian Standards for track infrastructure.
* Experience and knowledge of a railway environment including working in track possession windows and track occupancy planning.
* Ability to undertake asset condition forecasting and reporting.
* Knowledge of or an awareness of Work, Health and Safety principles and relevant rail safety legislation.
* Motor Vehicle Drivers Licence Class C.
* Medical fitness to Category 1 Rail Safety Worker.
