About the role: We are currently seeking a highly skilled Family Therapist with experience working with families, proficiency in therapeutic and counseling skills, and knowledge of child protection risk assessment to join our team.As a Family Therapist utilizing the FFT-CW model, you will provide in-home Family Therapy to client families referred by the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) due to child protection risks, with the aim of preventing out-of-home care (OOHC) placements.Holding and reducing risk in the family home is paramount in this role, where you'll play a vital part in empowering families to create safe and nurturing environments.This is a Permanent Full-Time opportunity based in Queanbeyan, NSW within our Children, Youth and Families Program.The position reports to the Family Therapist Supervisor.Key Selection Criteria: To be successful in this role, you will have: A Bachelor's qualification in Social Work or Psychology/Aboriginal Health Worker/Community Welfare Worker or Master of Counselling.Post Graduate training in relevant child, adolescent and family clinical practice, family therapy and systemic thinking is strongly preferred.Demonstrated and extensive experience and skills in assessment and clinical interventions and family-centered practice with vulnerable children, young people and families with complex needs.Clinical experience working with families/adolescents is strongly preferred.Proven highly developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and excellent engagement skills.A track record of working collaboratively and the demonstrated capacity to negotiate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders including DCJ, other agencies and the community.
