POSITION OVERVIEW
At the heart of store operations, our Customer Service Assistant will be passionate about delivering exceptional customer service while driving high sales results. Key traits include having excellent people and sales skills, a keen eye for maintaining organized merchandise displays, restocking shelves flawlessly, and providing seamless transactions at the register.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Adhere to all standard operating procedures and policies.
* Responsible for cash handling procedures.
* Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues in their assigned area.
* Assist with merchandising tasks.
* Maintain assigned areas to a high standard.
* Deliver outstanding customer service through personal interactions.
* Manage receiving deliveries and invoicing paperwork.
* Restock shelves and display areas.
* Perform store maintenance duties, including cleaning and maintaining the stockroom.
* Promote a strong safety culture by using equipment correctly, such as carton cutters, ladders, and trolleys.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Stand for extended periods.
* Frequently operate a cash register.
* Moving merchandise weighing up to 10kg and up to 1.5-3m in height.
* Ascend and descend ladders to retrieve and store stock.
* Use stock trolleys, pallet jacks for moving stock.
* Position self to kneel, bend, and stoop, including in the stockroom and on the sales floor.
* Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues via telephone and face-to-face in the store.
QUALIFICATION AND WORK SKILL REQUIREMENTS
* Recent relevant work experience.
* Demonstrated ability to provide excellence in customer service.
* Ability to multitask.

* Cash handling experience, including balancing the cash register.
