The Role
We are seeking an experienced Executive Officer to join our team in Canberra.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide detailed advice and administrative support to Senior Executive Service (SES) staff.
* Manage the flow of communications within the SES office, including monitoring all incoming and outgoing emails, briefs, and correspondence.
* Support SES staff to ensure effective delivery, governance, and leadership of the Division and/or Group's activities.
* Coordinate and quality assure corporate management activities, including business planning, briefs, and reports.
* Develop budgets and manage finances, evaluating resource performance and requirements within agreed budgetary parameters.
* Prepare and coordinate complex and/or sensitive correspondence, research papers, corporate documentation, submissions, and briefs.
* Provide secretariat duties to strategic committees.
* Represent SES staff on internal and external forums.
* Represent the Division/Group on behalf of SES staff at external and cross-agency forums, conferences, and seminars.
* Manage effective and productive working relationships with internal staff, external Australian Public Service agencies, and other key stakeholders.
* Anticipate and resolve emerging operational and strategic issues, advising on potential responses.
* Manage and monitor initiatives on behalf of SES staff, undertaking project and event management functions.
* Manage the activities of the Executive Team.
Requirements:
* High level verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
* Superior organisational skills, prioritising efficiently and effectively.
* Experience with HP Content Manager records management, Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint, and the Parliamentary Document Management System.
Salary: This pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. Estimated salary range: $90,000 - $130,000 per annum based on location and title.
