Program Overview
As a Specialist adult Homelessness and Crisis Accommodation Service, QHome provides Temporary Supported Accommodation and supports to Men and Women 18 years and above who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to work towards stability in their living arrangements. We provide an environment of inclusion and respect, addressing specific needs identified by utilising our case management framework for smooth and safe transitioning into the community with successful outcomes. The residential crisis accommodation service supports our vulnerable people to meet their immediate personal needs and work towards obtaining stable, long-term accommodation as soon as possible. Our onsite QKitchen team provides support to our QHome service by providing high-quality nutritious meals to the individuals who reside within the service, as well as providing similar support to our Bama Dakil Diversionary Centre and our Cell Watch programs. Additionally, QKitchen offers catering services for both internal and external clients.
To Be Successful You Will Need
Prior kitchen hand experience assisting with preparing menus and meals.Experience assisting with kitchen operations including food preparation, cleaning and hygiene tasks.Ability to adhere to strict food safety and workplace health and safety guidelines.Prior experience assisting with inventory control and minimizing food wastage.Demonstrated experience providing a high-level of customer service.Prior experience in a commercial kitchen will be highly regarded.Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families, and communities will be highly regarded.Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds will be highly regarded.Compliance
