Why this role matters
The Salvation Army (Salvos) Doorways model of care provides holistic financial support to individuals and families seeking short term financial assistance and ongoing financial management support services. The Doorways Team provide person-centered trauma informed care, facilitate short-term financial assistance, and walk side-by-side with participants as they build the skills and knowledge to break the cycle of poverty.
This position will support community members to meet their goals through community partnerships, collaboration and using case management as a tool.
Work collaboratively with Corps Officers, Volunteers, and other co-located Mission Leaders to deliver an integrated approach to delivering Doorways at the local site.
About The Role
We are seeking a values-driven Case Manager for our Doorways program role. Reporting to the Doorways Team leader, this is a part-time role, located in Leongatha, Victoria.
You will successfully
* Build and maintain relationships within TSA and with local community stakeholders to identify resources, community needs, and opportunities for collaboration.
* Assess the specific needs and strengths of community members, identifying interconnected issues and needs.
* Develop high-quality case plans with community members to set achievable goals using a strengths-based approach.
* Implement prevention and early intervention strategies to provide support and services to individuals facing disadvantage and financial hardship.
* Offer effective support to those experiencing long-term disadvantage and generational poverty.
* Empower community members to build capacity and develop independent living skills towards self-determination.
* Complete assessments and referrals for additional financial support, such as No Interest Loans (NILS) and Energy Assistance, following state-based guidelines.
* Provide guidance to community members, Corps Officers, volunteers, and internal/external services on accessing Doorways Emergency Financial Relief. Represent State Manager in internal and external forums.
You will have
* Degree level qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or other Community/Human Services discipline is highly desirable, or a Diploma and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in the community services sector would be considered.

* Flexibility: The ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
* A national Criminal History check is required.
* A current and valid Working with Children’s Check.

Conditions
Compensation is in accordance with SCHADS LEVEL 4.
