Learn more about Mount Isa Mines at www.mountisamines.com.au.The RoleAs the Advisor - Mechanical, you will play a crucial role in identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives at Glencore Queensland Metals by managing in-house rebuilds, repairs, and fabrication works across MIM, MRM, GFM, and CRL, in line with the Processing Business Plan. The primary goal is to reduce reliance on external contractors and outsourcing while maximizing potential business savings through efficient in-house work.This role encompasses cost estimation, quality assurance, and cost control responsibilities. The coordinator will collaborate closely with asset owners to optimize internal processes, ensuring the effective and efficient use of the Surface Operations workshop's resources.The successful candidate will be responsible for:Estimating costs for in-house rebuilds, repairs, and fabrication for internal customers; collaborating with asset owners to identify cost-saving opportunities.Monitoring and ensuring that all in-house projects meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.Identifying high-value savings across various sectors and developing strategies for reducing costs through in-house capabilities.Acting as a liaison between asset owners, workshop staff, and external vendors, providing regular updates on project progress.Ensuring efficient use of workshop resources and streamlining operations for optimal output.Ensuring all work adheres to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.Maintaining accurate documentation and providing detailed reports on cost savings and project outcomes.The successful candidate will possess:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience) or Trade qualification with 10 years plus experience in large manufacturing workshop environment.Minimum 5 years experience in cost estimation, budgeting, and quality assurance.Knowledge of ISO Standards.Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in cost estimation and Microsoft Office.Safety as a core belief with a solution-seeking attitude.Experience with Glencore Operations, lean manufacturing, and knowledge of workshop equipment – highly advantageous.Ability to thrive on new challenges, responsibilities, and be willing to acquire new skills.Benefits of this position:Competitive remuneration package with 13% superannuation.Paid relocation inclusive of 12 weeks furnished transit accommodation.Benefits program including discounts with health insurance providers, online and in-store discounts through Glencore Rewards, salary sacrificing vehicles, Employee Referral Program, and Recognition and Reward programs.Fantastic professional development opportunities with Professional External Education Assistance, leadership development programs, ambassador programs, and more; and unrivalled career opportunities.Residential allowance.To find out further information contact: Bec McManus 0427 559 840Applications Close: 8:00am Thursday 6th February 2025
