Assistant Director- Financial AccountingThe Administrative Review Tribunal is currently seeking an experienced finance professional to join the Finance and Procurement team in a full-time ongoing role.This position can be located in various cities across Australia, including Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, or Sydney.Key Responsibilities:Financial Accounting: Manage the monthly financial reporting and annual financial statements processes in a timely and accurate manner.Accountability: Maintain and document accounting procedures & policies, position papers, and solve technical accounting issues.Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain complex internal and external relationships with auditors, banks, government entities, and other stakeholders by working collaboratively and providing high-level technical support.Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop the Financial Accounting team, promoting positive behaviours and taking a proactive approach to working across functions to deliver on Finance & Procurement priorities.Expertise: Collaborate with and provide timely advice to colleagues, business managers, and the executive leadership team on financial framework and compliance matters.About You:You are a motivated finance professional with a strong background in accounting standards, principles, and procedures. You possess excellent management skills, including an ability to establish and monitor work area plans, build staff capability through coaching, mentoring, and effective performance management.Requirements:A thorough knowledge of accounting standards, principles, and procedures.Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively to problem-solve issues, improve business processes, and influence innovations.Strong organisational and prioritisation skills and ability to work under pressure, managing multiple workloads and meeting tight deadlines with limited supervision.Demonstrated ability to think strategically, providing expert advice and technical accounting guidance to internal and external stakeholders.Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance.
