About the Home
Our Wodonga care home is situated near the NSW/VIC border, in the historic town of Wodonga. It is close to the local community, near the town centre, Murray River, local parks, and transport links. It consists of 116 beds, in a one-storey, wide building, consisting of low and high care units. Our primary goal is placing our focus on the health, lifestyle, and well-being of our residents.
About the Role
To deliver effective support to the hospitality function within the care home, including catering, cleaning, and laundry. Use your fantastic food services and cleaning skills in a role where you really can make a difference by providing our residents with an empathetic and personal approach.
About You
Previous catering/food service or cleaning experience preferred but not essential. You will be a team player and someone who enjoys interacting with people and giving back to our most vulnerable.
Duties
* Maintain legislated workplace health and safety, quality, and hygiene standards.
* Complete required documentation and reporting.
* Respond to residents’ queries and requests.
* Laundry duties include loading washers & dryers, sorting linen, hanging, folding, wrapping, or ironing linen.
* Catering/food services duties include assisting with basic food prep, providing meals and snacks, clearing dining areas, and dishwashing.
* Cleaning duties include general cleaning; mopping, vacuuming, and waste collection in the residents’ rooms, bathrooms, communal and living areas.
Skills and Experience
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Cleaning or catering experience preferred but not essential.
* Flexible availability for a variety of shifts throughout the week.
* Understanding of work health, safety, and hygiene practices and the ability to work unsupervised.
