About the Role
Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) is seeking a highly skilled Intensive Care Unit Liaison Nurse Practitioner (ICULNP) to join our dedicated healthcare team.
This challenging yet rewarding role is ideal for an experienced Nurse Practitioner with a passion for advanced clinical practice in the ICU.
Key Responsibilities:
* Comprehensive, holistic clinical assessment and history taking
* Initiating and interpreting diagnostic investigations relevant to your scope of practice
* Formulating diagnoses and differential diagnoses
* Initiating, adjusting doses, and deprescribing medications according to NP legislative requirements
* Engaging in complex decision-making for optimal patient outcomes
* Developing, evaluating, and reviewing therapeutic management plans
* Referring and consulting with relevant healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standard of care
* Promoting health education and wellness to patients and their families
Essential Qualifications & Requirements:
* Registered Nurse endorsed by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
* Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) registration with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Proven clinical experience within an ICU or similar advanced clinical setting
* Demonstrated ability to make independent and complex clinical decisions
* Strong communication and collaboration skills
Scope of Practice:
The ICULNP role at NHW is guided by a yearly evaluation of services, ensuring the highest standards in terms of quality, safety, effectiveness, and consumer participation.
Your scope of practice will be reviewed annually by NHW's scope of practice committee, ensuring ongoing professional growth and development.
