A market-leading FMCG business with a turnover of $300-$400 million is seeking an experienced Head of Sales & Marketing to drive growth, lead high-performing teams, and expand market presence. This is a rare opportunity to take on a senior leadership role in a well-established company that is scaling rapidly.
Reporting directly to the COO you will be responsible for developing and executing the commercial strategy across retail, mainstream supermarkets, food service, and a fast-growing cash & carry network. This role requires a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of the FMCG landscape, consumer trends, and key retail accounts in Australia and suppliers in SE Asia.
Job Description
1. Sales & Channel Strategy - Lead sales growth across grocery, independent retail, food service, and emerging channels.
2. Retail & Key Account Management - Strengthen partnerships with Coles, Woolworths, Costco, and other key retail customers, negotiating terms and driving category growth.
3. Develop and lead growth into specialty local retail customers.
4. Trade Marketing & Category Development - Oversee promotional strategies, pricing, and new product introductions to maximize market share.
5. Brand & Consumer Marketing - Lead FMCG-specific marketing initiatives, including shopper marketing, digital campaigns, and in-store activations.
6. Data-Driven Decision-Making - Utilize sales data, market insights, and consumer trends to shape commercial strategies and optimize execution.
7. Supply Chain & Commercial Collaboration - Work closely with supply chain, finance, and operations to ensure seamless product availability, inventory management, and profitability.
8. Expansion & Market Growth - Drive business expansion into new consumer segments, including the growing Korean and cash & carry markets.
9. Leadership & Team Development - Build and develop a high-performing sales and marketing team, fostering a results-driven and collaborative culture.
The Successful Applicant
1. Senior FMCG sales & marketing leader with experience across retail, food service, and wholesale distribution.
2. Proven track record of growing revenue, securing key retail partnerships, and leading successful go-to-market strategies.
3. Deep understanding of the Australian grocery & FMCG landscape - experience working with major retailers (Coles, Woolworths, Metcash, Costco) is highly desirable.
4. Bilingual in Cantonese and English (or Mandarin) - Highly valued to support supplier and retail relationships.
5. Commercially and analytically strong, with experience using data to inform pricing, promotions, and category strategies.
6. Strategic yet hands-on leader - able to set vision while executing tactical initiatives in a fast-moving FMCG environment.
7. Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence internal and external partners.
