Our customer, a renowned financial services company, is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join a growing legal team.
This role is due to start ASAP and will be based in Perth with the flexibility of hybrid working arrangements.
The lawyer will offer strategic legal guidance, ensuring compliance, informed decision-making, and ethical business practices. This position involves diverse projects, including:
Examining key commercial agreements such as licenses, service contracts, leases, and project deals while ensuring alignment with business goals. Leading negotiations and crafting strategies to safeguard our legal interests. Advising on banking, finance, credit lending, privacy laws, and regulatory requirements. Assessing legislative changes, identifying risks, and recommending mitigation strategies. Proactively identifying legal risks and implementing solutions. About You
Extensive experience in corporate counsel roles, focusing on commercial agreements, IT contracts, and supplier relationships. Strong expertise in financial services, credit licensing, and regulatory compliance. Exceptional commercial insight with the ability to navigate complex transactions. Skilled in communicating legal matters in a pragmatic, business-friendly manner. Proven ability to develop governance policies, frameworks, and compliance systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound legal judgment. Expertise in negotiation and dispute resolution.
