POSITION SUMMARY Due to our team's growth, we have a unique opportunity for an Intermediate or Senior Light Gauge Steel Structural Engineer to join our team. The location of this role is flexible and the right candidate could be based in either our Gold Coast QLD or Melbourne VIC office, or Adelaide SA Head Office. The role is a full-time, permanent position. RESPONSIBILITIES As an Intermediate or Senior Structural Engineer working under the direction of the management and within our Light Gauge Steel Frame and Residential teams, you would be expected to: Manage and deliver various (and concurrent) projects including residential, LGS product development and commercial across Australia. Work collaboratively to ensure service and product meet (and exceed) customer requirements. Liaise and consult with managers, directors, team members and clients to ensure consistent results within our team. Apply advanced first principles and understanding of standards and guidelines. Supervise/collaborate/mentor/train other engineers and provide contribution from your experience. Analyse survey reports, architectural drawings, blueprints, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects. Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills, and experience. Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering design documents. Organise, draft, and coordinate technical documents. Ensure external and internal projects run smoothly, and that the delivery is completed on time and within budget. Ensure quality assurance of work before final delivery. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil/Structural, and experience with advanced knowledge in structural engineering. Light gauge steel framing design experience (not compulsory, but favoured). 5-15 years' experience in the structural design of industrial and commercial buildings. Excellent skills in IT, Maths and Science. Able to explain design plans and ideas clearly, analyse large volumes of data and assess solutions. Able to meet deadlines and work within budgets. Able to work as a team. Sound knowledge about relevant legal/risk requirements.
