The Role
As the Program Coordinator - Teaching and Learning, you are instrumental in leading and implementing our whole-school vision and plan for teaching and learning. This includes the Quality Teaching and Learning Framework, which sets the standard for educational excellence across our school. Your leadership will focus on building staff capacity by utilising school data and contemporary research to drive improvements in student engagement and learning outcomes. The successful applicant will have a 0.4 – 0.6 FTE (negotiable) teaching load to enable success and transformational change in this dynamic role.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Vision: You will lead the implementation of a comprehensive vision and strategic plan for teaching and learning. This includes overseeing the Southern River College Quality Teaching and Learning Framework to ensure alignment with our educational goals and values as well as the DOE Teach for Impact.
2. Instructional Coaching: In this role, you will work closely with staff to build their capacity in effective teaching practices. By analysing pedagogical model data and leveraging current research, you will work with Leaders and staff to promote the implementation of instructional strategies that enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
3. Professional Development: You will identify the professional development needs of our college through walkthroughs, peer observations, feedback surveys and other relevant assessments. Your responsibilities include planning and delivering targeted training to support teachers in their ongoing professional growth and development.
4. Curriculum and Pedagogical Support: Leading our whole college pedagogy you will support Leaders and teachers in deepening their teaching practices by developing and implementing innovative teaching, feedback, and assessment strategies. These efforts should address the diverse learning needs of our students and promote a high standard of educational delivery. A key role is leading our Inspire Academic Excellence Program in Years 7-10 ensuring that students achieve to their potential and are extended with enriched and collaborative tasks. As a college that has heavily invested in Visible Learning and Curriculum differentiation this will be a key focus.
5. Collegiality and Culture: Building a culture of growth mindset, continuous professional development and an aspirational staff culture is a key. You will model innovative teaching styles, encourage appropriate professional development, and help create a supportive and collegiate learning environment where teachers reflect, collaborate and grow.
