The preferred candidate has worked in Project, Mining or Exploration environments and has GIA Certification in Company Secretary Essentials. This role will require helping other areas of the Company from time to time, including new employee onboarding, office management, or IT assistance. The ideal candidate has experience in process improvements in all areas of accounting and finance.The role reports to the Cannon VP and Project Director with a dotted line to the Kinterra Vice President Finance. Key working relationships include the Cannon Exploration Manager, the Environmental and Approval Coordinator and the Kinterra Vice President Projects.Role-Specific Accountabilities Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.Coordinate and manage tax preparations.Accounting and Cash Operations: Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, general ledger, payroll and insurance.Ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions and reconciliations.Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and collaborate with department heads.Provide rolling forecasts to anticipate future financial performance.Monitor and report on actual vs. budget variances, recommending corrective actions where necessary.Compliance and Regulatory: Stay updated on changes in accounting and tax standards and regulatory requirements impacting the mining industry.Understanding of Tenure and Form 5 reporting.Ensure compliance with all relevant financial and regulatory reporting requirements.Liaise with Legal team to ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures.Maintain robust internal controls within the organization's financial systems and processes.The Ideal Candidate would have the following: Strong Safety Leadership Skills.Understanding of Cultural Heritage and Sensitivity matters.Experienced Influencing Senior leaders and holding others to account.Basic understanding of legal and HR compliance issues.Qualifications & Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.CPA or CA certification or progress towards CPA preferred.10+ years of experience in accounting or related field.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP accounting software, preferably Pronto Xi.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in work.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.Interested candidates are invited to submit their resumes via email with the subject line "Financial Controller" to. #J-18808-Ljbffr
