The Role

We are expanding our Corporate Finance, Treasury & Investor Relations team with a new role focused on supporting our global tax function. Reporting to the Group Taxation Manager, you will assist in ensuring tax compliance and providing advisory services to the group. There is also the opportunity to cross-train with other areas of finance in this role.
The ideal candidate will possess a background in accounting and tax, alongside a strong commercial mindset and experience in Australian corporate and international tax legislation applicable to large corporate entities.

The day to day
1. Preparing income tax, GST and FBT filings across Australia and New Zealand
2. Preparing tax effect accounting analysis and disclosures within management and statutory financial reports
3. Advising on and managing the impact of new and proposed legislation, decisions, regulations, and rulings in tax and recommending appropriate Group responses
4. Assisting in managing the Group’s international tax policies, tax planning and compliance
5. Assisting in maintaining the Group’s transfer pricing policy documentation and ensuring compliance within multiple jurisdictions
6. Assisting with internal tax advisory support to Divisional Accountants
7. Assisting in optimising tax effective cash repatriation
8. Assisting with Group M&A related tasks, due diligence and other projects initiated and led by the Corporate Finance & Treasury Team
9. Assisting with preparing reports for Audit & Risk Committee
10. Conducting periodic reviews of tax processes to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for efficiency gains and process improvements
The Essentials
11. Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business
12. CA/CPA/CTA qualified or Masters of Taxation
13. A minimum of 3-5 years relevant taxation experience, either in private practice or a large corporate environment
14. Strong knowledge of Australian corporate and international tax legislation applicable to large corporate entities
15. Strong numerical and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel, with excellent attention to detail
16. Effective in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
17. High level of organisational and communication skills to be able to provide high quality, accurate and efficient taxation services
