The Team: Launceston General Hospital (LGH) Department of Surgical and Perioperative Services; outpatients and theatre suites. The (LGH) provides inpatient and ambulatory services to Launceston and surrounding areas. The Role: Assist’s the Director with the overall responsibility for the management of Surgical Services providing an efficient and effective surgery service within the LGH. Assists the Director to ensure that the Department of Surgery aspires to achieve best practice and be seen as a model for regional surgical services through the excellence in governance and judicious application of the principles of evidence-based practice. Assists the Director to ensure effective management of all physical, financial and human resources within the surgical services at the LGH. Participate and assist the Director in planning for ongoing and future surgical services and delivery at the Launceston General Hospital for Northern Tasmania. Assist the Director to manage performance, development, supervision and education portfolios for medical staff within the Department of Surgery.
