Join a dedicated team providing high-quality mental health support to young people in youth detention.About the RoleAs a Mental Health Clinician, you will work within a team to provide clinical and therapeutic services tailored to young people. Your expertise in developmental and cognitive assessments will be highly valued. This is a 6 month contract with possibility of extension.Key Responsibilities:Deliver individualised clinical support and therapeutic interventions.Conduct assessments and reports for young people in detention.Develop and implement behaviour support strategies for complex cases.Manage suicide risk assessments and safety plans in collaboration with stakeholders.Contribute to strategic planning, policy development, and continuous improvement.Provide training to detention centre staff on mental health, trauma, and communication strategies.About YouStrong clinical knowledge and experience in mental health.Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary setting.Cultural awareness, particularly in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.Strong communication and leadership skills.Requirements:Must hold one of the following qualifications and registrations:Psychologists - AHPRA registration & a degree in Psychology (Masters/Doctorate preferred).Social Workers - Eligibility for AASW membership.Occupational Therapists - AHPRA registration & a degree in Occupational Therapy.Speech Pathologists - Membership eligibility with Speech Pathology Australia.Additional requirements:Mandatory ownership of valid Blue Card.Ability to travel occasionally, including overnight stays.Australian citizenship/permanent residency or a valid work visa.Ability to pass a criminal history check.About UsWith offices in Cairns and Townsville, Precruitment is Regional Queensland's leading recruitment consultancy, specialising in permanent and temporary roles.
