Your new role As a key member in the University Advancement team, the Senior Advancement Executive will support the Faculty of Science and Engineering to secure financial support from philanthropic and corporate sources to help the Faculty produce high-quality graduates and actionable knowledge.
The incumbent will focus on securing major donations ($100K+) by building strong and mutually beneficial relationships with donors. This requires an understanding of where the interests of particular donors and the University intersect for the benefit of students, research, and the global communities in which Curtin operates. The Senior Advancement Executive will craft sophisticated funding proposals with persuasive value propositions that focus on Faculty priorities. This position will also coordinate and deliver events to increase engagement with alumni and stakeholders.

In this role, you will Identify, inspire, and engage with suitable donors and corporates to seek their support through significant donations, sponsorships, and bequests. Develop creative and innovative opportunities to meet and exceed annual fundraising goals. Create and implement effective stewardship strategies that allow you to build, maintain and strengthen relationships as you oversee a portfolio of current and prospective donors. Effectively liaise with key internal stakeholders and manage project outcomes whilst providing clear updates on scope, budget, deliverables, and timelines for programs. Report all interactions and activities efficiently on our CRM fundraising software. Continuously stay informed of globally emerging technologies in science and engineering in order to be conversant with academics in the Faculty. Model Curtin's Values and Signature Behaviours. A proactive mindset and the ability to identify and seek out opportunities that will align with the Faculty's strategic vision and support the success of target achievement. Exceptional interpersonal and oral communication skills to liaise effectively with and influence a wide range of people at all levels both within and external to Curtin and an ability to build trusted and lasting industry partnerships and networks. High level writing and presentation skills with demonstrated experience in developing clear, concise, and professional proposals, reports, and other communication pieces. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and effectively within a large multifunctional team environment. Experience in fundraising, sales and/or business development, who is keen to support the transformative mission of higher education. This opportunity would be well suited to someone who has a fundraising, business development, or entrepreneurial background, who also holds the necessary experience and confidence to close six-figure agreements according to relational (not transactional) principles. A working knowledge and understanding of Science and Engineering and/or working within tertiary education is highly regarded.
