Remuneration: Band 8 salary from $128,995.88 per annum plus superannuation and a fortnightly RDO Location: Werribee based About the role As the Senior Engineer – Construction Projects, you will provide specialist technical and engineering support to the engineering design unit as well as performing the task of Superintendent’s representative on capital works contracts. You will use your existing knowledge of engineering design and construction principles, contract management, project management and stakeholder engagement to promptly resolve contract and engineering design queries and issues during construction. This role will have you working in a cohesive team of people with a diverse range of skills and experience. The team members work largely autonomously, with a culture of willing support. What your day will look like Detailed review of engineering designs and tender documentation Collaborate with the project stakeholders and services authorities from early works to completion and asset handover. Training, advice and support to staff regarding contract preparation and management Managing the construction inspection process to ensure that works are undertaken to the required standard Conducting regular site meetings with contractors, reviewing document minutes and the progress of works Evaluate tender and managing the evaluation of contractor performance What you will bring Tertiary qualification in a related field (Civil Engineering) Professional Engineers Registration in compliance with the Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019 Extensive experience relating to the construction of civil infrastructure including local roads and drainage construction projects. Extensive experience relating to the various authority and management requirements such as CHMP, Flora & Fauna, Planning permit, Heritage etc Highly developed organisational and project management skills with the ability to work under conflicting pressures and achieve agreed outcomes Previous experience within a Local Government environment Strong communication, negotiation and issue resolution skills Current Worksafe induction accreditation (white card) If you progress past the interview stage, you may be required to complete pre-employment screening, which may include police checks, a medical, qualification verification, and an Australian work rights check.
