What you’ll do
As a Packaging Technologist you will be responsible for developing functional, innovative and Sustainable Packaging for various categories of Products. Packaging will be developed to deliver the Woolworths Food Company New Product Development program, enhance and improve existing products, and deliver our Packaging Sustainability strategy. Packaging development activities will be aligned to our category strategies, Woolworths Packaging Sustainability commitments and our Woolworths Own Brand positioning.
* Partnering with the sourcing team to deliver greater value, more sustainable packaging solutions without compromising quality
* Identify cost effective, innovative and sustainable packaging solutions to meet customer and business requirements, working within squads to implement these projects
* Develop and maintain knowledge of the packaging and recycling industries
* Build relationships with packaging providers along the packaging value chain
* Support the delivery of the Woolworths Food Group sustainability strategy
What you’ll bring
You are a passionate advocate for Packaging Technology and sustainability and up to the challenge to deliver the right outcome for Woolworths and our customers. You are a team player who can work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver commercial and customer focused outcomes to drive our brand values.
* 1-2 years of packaging experience in an FMCG, retail or manufacturing environment
* Understanding of sustainability challenges in relation to packaging in Australia
* Self-starter with ability to lead key EPD packaging initiatives and manage multiple projects and commitments
* Ability to successfully navigate within a large business
* Ability to build strong working relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders
