About the opportunity: This is a critical role in which you will support the Major Project business across a variety of high-profile infrastructure projects across NSW.
Your responsibilities will be wide and include ensuring that costs are minimised at the same time as achieving full compliance with minimum technical standards and developing, monitoring and reporting on quality targets and performance.
You will provide innovative technical advice and support to the Project, Cells and Operational Managers to maximise the utilisation, quality and profitability of new and existing resources and manage the functional and financial responsibility for the technical team.
Further and detailed responsibilities for the role are found in the Position Description which is available upon request and will include: Managing concrete mix performance with changing sources and quality of raw materials.
Liaising with laboratories to ensure correct mixes are tested and in sufficient numbers.
Selling our technical capability to customers, while correctly and ethically representing our products.
Project ITP's.
Development of new mixes to meet project's requirements.
Responsibility for Mix Submissions.
Negotiating project exceptions.
Maintaining company compliance and quality standards in face of commercial pressures.
Demonstrating effective leadership to ensure a highly motivated team.
Promptly reporting and acting on any serious product performance issues or problems.
Understanding the Quality Management System implicitly and complying fully with it.
Ensuring costs are managed in line with budgeted limits.
Being proactive in identifying high-cost processes and implementing improvements.
Providing timely and accurate technical support and direction to internal and external customers.
About you: To be successful in this exciting role you will need: Engineering or Science Degree or Diploma, and/or extensive industry experience Minimum 5 years industry technical experience in Aggregates, Civil Engineering, Concrete or similar.
Desirable: NATA Laboratory Experience – Level 5A.
Desirable: Trained auditor SAI Global or equivalent.
Completed internal introduction to Quality Management training.
Microsoft Office Applications in particular Word and Excel, TIMS, QEST LAB, SAP, Command, WEB Chris HR21.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
Strong communication skills High energy with a willingness to learn and a self-starting attitude.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, and with all functions.
