About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head Chef for a large gastro pub in Sydney's West.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the kitchen team, overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality and consistency.
* Develop, create, and implement menu changes that reflect the venue's ethos and customer preferences.
* Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, mentoring, and maintaining a positive workplace culture.
* Control food costs, manage inventory, and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
* Maintain health and safety standards, including cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene practices.
* Collaborate with management to ensure smooth service operations, from prep to plate.
* Handle customer feedback on food quality and ensure concerns are addressed professionally.
Requirements:
* Minimum previous experience as a Head Chef within a high-volume gastro pub or similar venue.
* Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and health and safety standards.
* Proven experience in menu development and cost control.
* Ability to lead a team, manage kitchen operations, and maintain a calm, organised approach during busy service periods.
* Passionate about creating high-quality, innovative dishes that work in a high-volume environment.
* A hands-on approach to leadership with excellent communication and organisational skills.
