bound by its Commonwealth contract and as a result only able to offer Fixed Term contracts until the end of its current 3-year funding cycle.We have every expectation that this contract will renew for department Majarlin Kimberley Centre for Remote Health (Majarlin) is a Commonwealth-funded University Department of Rural Health (UDRH).The departments central office is based on the University's Broome campus but has satellite operations in Kununurra and Derby.Majarlin is an academic institute within the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Midwifery and Health Sciences whose aim is to contribute to the development of a capable and culturally responsive Kimberley health workforce through inspiration, education, innovation, and research.To achieve this, Majarlin facilitates the delivery of high-quality Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health clinical placements, education, and professional support and engages in collaborative research to progress the rural health evidence base.About the role The Clinical Facilitator will be part of Majarlin's Nursing and Midwifery team whose role is to support and educate nursing and/or midwifery students, graduates, and preceptors.The position acts as a student mentor, tutor, clinical facilitator and professional role model for nursing and midwifery students and plays a formal role in teaching and assessments.The position is also responsible for building and maintaining relationships with health care providers to enhance the student learning experience and build opportunities for future collaboration.Likewise, the position will contribute to other academic activities within Majarlin and contribute to other operational activities within the department.Key Responsibilities Provide briefing sessions, mentor orientation/training sessions and actively facilitating relevant learning opportunities for nursing staff.Provide additional academic support and tutoring including assisting with teaching in clinical block weeks Assist students and graduates with their development of communication, problem solving, clinical and professional skills Evaluate, monitor, and manage student assessment and performance, including responding positively to the immediate concerns and needs of the students and the health care providers Maintain the standards and expectations of the student's University and the relevant health care provider including documenting all relevant information regarding student assessment, incident reports or issues related to the clinical placement Work in collaboration with the relevant clinical nurse education teams to support and educate nursing and midwifery students and graduates Scope new clinical placement opportunities for nursing and midwifery students Participate in the development and delivery of Majarlin multidisciplinary education and support programs and networking opportunities for students and health professionals throughout the Kimberley Contribute to other relevant academic and operational activities within the department as designated by Majarlin leadership Qualifications, skills & experience Registered as a Nurse and/or Midwife in Australia with NMBA coupled with a minimum of 3 years clinical nursing/midwifery experience Demonstrated ability to provide high quality education in a clinical and/or University context Well-developed understanding of contemporary issues in nursing and midwifery Excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skill with the ability to work effectively within a team Relevant post-graduate academic and/or clinical qualifications in relevant nursing / midwifery / health fields Experience teaching in clinical laboratory / simulations Certificate lV in Workplace Training and Assessment or Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education (or equivalent) A demonstrated ability to develop teaching resources and deliver courses in a variety of formats, including the effective use of online learning management Well-developed
