We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Commercial Manager – Network Access to join our team in Perth on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will be independently managing network access coordination. This includes managing new connections to the electricity network, ensuring technical feasibility, commercial viability and regulatory compliance, whilst ensuring cost-effective and technical sound solutions and adhering to industry regulations and policies. You will also be working closely with internal and external customers to provide efficient processes for network access. Key Responsibilities Leading the planning, assessment, and execution of new connection requests, ensuring alignment with engineering standards, regulatory requirements and internal processes Interacting with the Pilbara Independent System Operator (ISO) and regional regulators, ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, guidelines and network rules Providing commercial oversight of the Pilbara Network Access Code (PNAC) and Pilbara Network Rules (PNR), ensuring cost recovery, fair pricing structures, and economic feasibility of new connections Coordinating the technical due diligence associated with new connections with the Engineering Lead Collaborating with internal development, engineering, planning, and commercial teams to deliver efficient and technically sound connection Represent the company in negotiations with customers, suppliers, government departments whilst acting as a key point of contact for customers, facilitating smooth engagement and clear communication throughout the connection process Your background Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (such as Law or Commerce) Extensive experience in a similar Commercial Manager role within the renewables or power generation sector High levels of contract management and negotiation experience Proven experience managing network access within the power generation sector and familiarity with the Pilbara regulatory framework Sound analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, along with strong attention to detail Working at APA At APA we’re committed to fostering a safe and inclusive workplace where you can achieve your best.
