Project Manager - ( 240004CA ) Description About the role Our established NSW Civil Engineering team is looking for a Project Manager/ Senior Project Manager to support a strong pipeline of work in Newcastle.
The ideal team player will have a strong technical background in land development, civil project management, experience in leading teams of engineers and technicians, strong financial and commercial acumen, and the desire to advance their career on iconic projects across the region.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams and work independently as a Project Manager on your own projects.
Our team works on a range of land development, government infrastructure, and strategic planning projects across New South Wales Successful candidates will be developed in a professional and personal sense and will be provided with an opportunity to forge a challenging and rewarding career path in a successful consultancy.
Day to day tasks would involve: Support projects across the entire life cycle, including design management, tendering, contract administration, financial management, project scheduling and risk management.
Support Campaign and Proposal staff to identify project opportunities and prepare proposal material with a focus on Stantec's Project Management Framework (PMF) practices, ensuring client requirements, scope/deliverables, risk, technical and commercial needs are achievable.
Proactive marketing and cross-selling (across business lines and disciplines) of company services to obtain new clients/commissions and develop industry relationships.
Spearheading project delivery by providing management skills to ensure the end products meet client and stakeholder expectations.
Assist in reviewing and negotiating contracts, and reviewing executed contracts to verify timeframes, milestones, procedures and budgets to achieve project outcomes.
Establish project plans (where required) including resourcing, finance, risk and quality in conjunction with the technical team, project Technical Leads/Project Engineers, Project Support personnel and Project Accounting to ensure all aspects of the project are planned prior to project execution.
Perform on technically complex projects and may act as a technical resource to other team members Managing adequate resource allocation to ensure project delivery meets the required program milestones.
Managing the project in accordance with the agreed contract conditions Coordinating the engagement of subconsultants and subcontractors for contributions to project delivery Reviewing and developing work procedures to improve operations or to solve problems related to quality.
Complying with project controls including, project scheduling to demonstrate delay and disruption, monitoring and reporting progress, cost and productivity, project cost forecasting and management of changes to the scope of work.
Maintain and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders Qualifications To be successful for this role you'll need: Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Project management, Construction management or relevant technical qualification is desirable.
Ideally you should have 5 years of experience.
Previous civil project management experience working in civil projects including stormwater/roads, land development and councils.
Previous success in delivering large projects; undertaking day to day project coordination, development and execution of projects plans and programming.
Ability to deliver and manage stakeholders in a complex environment, be accountable for client satisfaction by supporting the project team.
Experience in project programming and critical path analysis by implementing strategies which address program, delivery, design risks and ensure the most appropriate standards and requirements are developed and implemented.
Commercial acumen in managing resources and budgets.
Strong verbal, written communication skills and an ability to motivate others.
