About the Opportunity Gresford Garage and Rural is looking for a Light Vehicle Mechanic based in Gresford, NSW .
Work type: Full-Time or Part-Time (flexible) – with your choice of 4 or 5 days per week, and flexible working hours.
Reporting directly to the business owners, you'll be the sole mechanic responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshop and delivering exceptional service to our local clientele.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Performing vehicle registration inspections Conducting scheduled vehicle servicing and maintenance Diagnosing and repairing vehicles Fitting tyres and performing wheel balancing Conducting wheel alignments (preferred but not essential) Ordering parts and quoting jobs Maintaining accurate job records and documentation Ensuring a clean and safe workspace Providing friendly and honest customer service Conveniently located within 35 minutes of Singleton, Maitland and Dungog – ideal for local tradespeople looking for a shorter commute or those ready to swap FIFO or shift work for something more stable and local.
About You To qualify, you will need:
Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanics A minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience A valid driver's licence (MR licence is a bonus but not essential) Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
Experience with wheel alignments and tyre fitting Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to work independently and manage workshop tasks Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious mindset Prioritisation, organisation, and attention to detail As our ideal candidate, you'll be mature-minded, friendly, and community-oriented — someone who takes pride in their work, and who can balance technical skill with respectful, honest communication with customers.
