As the Head of Research, you will lead and manage the research team to develop and execute strategies that support the firm’s investment objectives. This senior role requires a profound understanding of global financial markets and the ability to translate complex research into actionable investment insights. You will collaborate closely with portfolio managers and the CIO to align research efforts with the firm’s investment philosophy. Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and manage the research team, promoting a high-performance culture. Oversee recruitment, development, and retention of top research talent. Set clear objectives and performance goals aligned with the firm’s strategic direction. Cover at least one global sector in-depth, in addition to overseeing the broader research effort. Develop and implement a research strategy in alignment with investment objectives and portfolio themes. Stay up to date with global economic, political, and financial trends to inform investment decisions. Ensure high-quality analysis across all sectors and regions. Collaborate with portfolio managers to integrate research into portfolio construction and risk management. Provide actionable investment ideas and participate in portfolio manager meetings with research-driven recommendations. Drive innovation by leveraging new data sources, tools, and methodologies to enhance research quality. Improve research processes and workflows for better output and efficiency. Communicate insights to clients and assist in writing responses for RFPs, client reports, and ad-hoc inquiries. Represent the firm as a thought leader at industry events, conferences, and in media engagements. Skills & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field (MBA, CFA preferred). 15-20 years of experience in investment research, with leadership experience and a focus on global equities. Strong knowledge of global equity markets, macroeconomics, and investment strategies from buy-side or sell-side research and ideally bring Head of Research experience. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data into actionable insights. Proven leadership in managing teams, fostering collaboration, and driving results. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences. Strong commitment to integrity and professional ethics.
